SODIUM BICARBONATE (FOOD GRADE)
Sodium bicarbonate – other names: tea soda, drinking or food soda . Chemical inorganic substance, sodium acid carbonic acid salt with the chemical formula -NaHCO3.
In its usual form, it is a white crystalline powder.
Registered as food supplement like E500.
Used in the following areas:
| Chemical industry | for the production of dyes, foams and other organic products, organofluorine compounds, household chemical products, fillers in fire extinguishers, a reagent for separating carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide from gas mixtures |
| Textile industry | in the manufacture of artificial leathers, tanning in the tanning and neutralization of leather after acid tanning, the textile industry in the decoration of silk and cotton fabrics |
| Cookery | as the main or additional baking powder in the composition of acid and fresh dough |
| Medicine | as an antacid. When taken orally, it reduces the acidity of gastric juice and is used to treat gastric ulcer, a solution of baking soda is used to disinfect teeth and gums with toothaches and the mouth and throat, with severe coughing, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, stomatitis, laryngitis and etc. |
