SODA ASH is an inorganic compound, the sodium salt of carbonic acid. Colorless crystals or white powder, highly soluble in water.
Used in the following areas:
| SODA ASH grade A (Dense) used in glass production, in the metallurgical field, in the manufacture of washing powders, in the coke industry |
SODA ASH grade B (Powder) used in the production of batteries, accumulators, auto parts,in the processing of lead, zinc, tin in the production of enamels, as well as for ultramarine |
In addition, sodium carbonate is used to soften the water of steam boilers and reduce the hardness of water for domestic and industrial use, for the degreasing of metals and desulphation of blast iron. It can be used in the manufacture of cigarette filters. In addition, soda ash is used in the pharmaceutical industry for the synthesis of certain drugs.
One of the newest technologies for enhancing oil recovery is ASP flooding, which uses soda in combination with a surfactant to reduce interfacial tension between water and oil.
Also, it is used as part of the developers of photography as an accelerating agent.
